Medicamentos de venda livre são mais caros nas farmácias

Os medicamentos de venda livre são mais caros nas farmácias do que nos hipermercados e parafarmácias, chegando a diferença aos 14%, revela um estudo da Deco Proteste, segundo o qual Beja é o distrito onde os consumidores pagam mais.

O estudo da Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor analisou o preço de um cabaz de 26 medicamentos não sujeitos a receita médica em farmácias, espaços de saúde das grandes superfícies e parafarmácias em todo o país, tendo concluído que “nas farmácias, a amostra de medicamentos selecionada é mais cara – a diferença chega a ser de mais 14% que nos outros canais de distribuição”.

A Deco Proteste refere em comunicado que desde que os medicamentos não sujeitos a receita médica deixaram de ser vendidos exclusivamente nas farmácias, o preço deixou de ser fixado pelo Estado, e “a diferença de preços entre as grandes superfícies e as farmácias tem sido constante”, dando exemplos com alguns dos medicamentos mais vendidos em Portugal, nomeadamente Ben-u-ron, Daflon ou Voltaren, que estão entre os 26 fármacos que compõem a amostra do estudo.

O estudo revela que o Ben-u-ron (500 mg) custava 2,52 euros em média num hipermercado e 2,79 euros, em média, em farmácias; o Daflon (1000 mg) custava 18,84 euros em média num hipermercado e 21,36 euros em média em farmácia e o Voltaren Emulgelex Gel, embalagem de 180g, custava 21,35 euros em média nas parafarmácias e mais dois euros, em média, na farmácia.

Segundo dados da Autoridade Nacional de Medicamentos e Produtos de Saúde (Infarmed), as farmácias continuam a deter o maior volume de vendas (78% do mercado).

“No entanto, na esmagadora maioria dos casos, o consumidor poupa se optar por comprar nos espaços de saúde dos hipermercados ou supermercados – aqui, os 26 medicamentos analisados custam no total cerca de 218 euros, em contraponto com as parafarmácias de rua (232 euros), e com as farmácias e farmácias online (245 euros e 252 euros, respetivamente)”, salienta a Deco Proteste.

Analisando as diferenças de distrito para distrito, a organização refere que o mesmo fármaco pode sofrer “uma variação de preço considerável”, sendo que Castelo Branco, Guarda e Santarém são os distritos onde, em média, os preços dos medicamentos de venda livre são mais baratos, enquanto Beja é onde os consumidores pagam mais.

Em Castelo Branco e Guarda, o cabaz custa em média 210 euros, e em Beja, a média atinge os 252 euros. Traçando a média para Portugal Continental, o estudo indica que estes 26 medicamentos custariam 237 euros.

“Na verdade, a diferença de preços entre as grandes superfícies e as farmácias tem sido constante ao longo dos anos. Foi exatamente o que aconteceu entre 2018 e 2023: a percentagem situa-se nos 14%, entre os preços praticados nas farmácias e os que as parafarmácias nas grandes superfícies apresentam. No entanto, existem exceções à regra e nem todas as parafarmácias responderam ao inquérito que serve de base ao teste”, ressalva a associação.

A coordenadora da área da saúde da Deco Proteste, Susana Santos, alerta que “o consumidor deve estar atento para fazer as escolhas mais económicas”.

“O inquérito comparou os preços deste ano com os de 13 produtos analisados em 2018 e, em média, todos os medicamentos estão mais caros. Por exemplo, o Trifene 200, 20 comprimidos, que está 89% mais caro em 2023 por comparação com 2018. No atual momento de estrangulamento financeiro, estas variações de preço podem ser decisivas para que um consumidor possa ou não comprar medicação”, salienta Susana Santos.
